 Carol McArdle Bio

Carol McArdle knew from the age of ten she would be an artist and after spending most of her childhood in England went to Art College about an hour's train ride away from London. She often visited the National Gallery, The Tate and the British Museum. The quality of exhibits and variety of styles of art that Carol was exposed to has always remained with her, influencing her long art career that has spanned a variety of art disciplines.

In 2006 Carol began a new series of paintings portraying the fast disappearing Natural Florida where she lives. She does research for her paintings in the local Florida State and National Parks and other preserved land. In just three years her paintings have joined some of the best exhibits in the USA. In 2008 she was a finalist in the International Guild of Realism's Annual Juried Show, her work is in the 2009 Birds in Art Exhibit at the Woodson Museum and she is one of the 2009 Paint the Parks Top 100 exhibit which travels the USA for a year.

After having lived in England, Ireland and Jamaica, Carol moved to the States in 1992 and to Southwest Florida in 1995. She became an American citizen in 2001 and has now lived in Florida longer than anywhere else in her life. Carol's art also reflects her appreciation of Florida's sub-tropical climate and unique landscapes.
