Carol McArdle loves beaches that are not commercialized and still have old trees, driftwood, shells and seaweed. This is a scene from one of those rare beaches in South Florida. The shadows of old leaning buttonwood trees create patterns in the sand and water and are as important to this painting and many of Carol's paintings as the trees themselves.
